Spectrum of Fractals

This is my very first Blog entry on any address within the silicon exoskeleton for our collective interaction: that which we label modern, wireless communication.

After reading Ken Wilber, Paul Shepard, and a few other texts which caught intuition's eye, I am convinced not only in this theory of Gaia, but also that the organism of Earth is an entity we, as individual islands of experience, are Fractals of.

Consider the similarities:  Gaia's biological structure is grown from a geological skeleton, with a permeable "skin" of soil, sand, or clay.  It has the working processes to keep it "alive" and through the interaction of those organisms, it regulates itself.  Relatively recently, it evolved a "Mind" through humans: a unique organism that blended predatory analysis and primate social needs at the root of its very being. 

Consider this:  The One became bored with the chemical dependency of the insect/plant relationship.  Insert paragraph on hundres of billions of years of gradual, necessary evolution in order to refine and prepare a lifeless satalite. 

The Amphibian/Insect relationship still offered too much action/reaction with little depth into choice.  The Reptilian predator/prey dance came to it's climax of primal fullfillment with the Dinosaurs.  The flexibility and possibility of familial interaction was desired, so mammalian organisms developed.  Survival drove these limit-living species into the nightlife, where the spacial/relational aspects of Mind evolved through mammilian dependence on hearing.  When mammals emerged from the darkness, they followed the predator/prey dance of the dinosaurs until social/familial interactions became more and more complex.

Humans came into their essence and horizontally expanded until the surface of Gaia was inhabited, cataloged, or analyzed.  Dominance and parasitism, which boils down into each social/familial network's desire for survival, has bought us comfort from survivailists' paranoia.  As this comfort/culture increased, humanity began "vertical" explorations.  (Rather than protecting my offspring from predators or trying to warm myself on this frigid January night, I am exercising my philosophical/theological processes.)
The trend of horizontal and technological expansion has now given us six and a half billion points of view of a reality materialized in the fertile bed of Gaia.  Picture each point-of-view as a "synapse" for the brain of Earth, and you'll find even more striking fractal relationships.

Synapses communicate by passing chemicals back and forth, sending electrical signals down into the neurological systems of the brain, causing actions to be carried out by the body, and yet they never really meld.  Humans communicate by passing non-verbal/verbal communication back and forth, causing chemical reactions to trickle down their neurological system.  The traditionally speaking, Marriage or monogamy is the closest any two individual points will come to "melding."

You know those nail-boxes you see in gift shops?  I always like to press my hand into them with a middle finger extended, then set it back on the shelf.  If each of the six and a half billion points of view were a nail, we could say that every human is trying to earn the assurance that they are at the right height.  We convince the nails around our own to raise/drop to our level, and as more do, we become even more assured that our group has found "the right one."  We forget, however, that the more varied the level of nail, the more detailed the Greater Hand is.

Statistically speaking, the Copehagen interpretation of Quantam Physics is the most accurate, so (in theory) this collective neurological interaction decides how the most fundamental building blocks of reality become manifest...and yet, the unique qualities of any individual point of view remains, based on emotional/chemical reaction to a series of situations in their Life history.

The Industrial revolution and all of the atrocities of the 20th century eventually gave birth to a reality in which the points of view of the world could interact economically and via communication.  The exponentially increasing points-of-view now have the comforts to explore greater "depth," along with the tools to communicate those depths throughout the globe, instantly.

Tragically, those of the Mind who are most comfortable are also disregarding attention to the biological experience by plugging into their television, Internet, or movie screens.  Those of the poverty riddled and overpopulated areas are disregarding attention to the biological experience by destroying it through pollution or genocide.  Any individual is a fractal of Gaia.  If an individual disregards their body, the body fails.  I believe Caridac Arrest or Emphazema would be apt metaphors for this current state of affairs. 

Like an individual on the precipice of healthy adulthood, our species is still counting on Fate to deliver us from habits formed from a sense of self-importance.  We are just so damned talented and special that surely our lucky day will come;  the Universe took great care, statistically, to bring us into Being.  Certainly, it will deliver us from ourselves!

Yet, subconsiously, the collective is making the virtual world more realistic every day. Lucid dreamers have the ability to manipulate their dream any way they choose; virtual beauty is more athstetically perfect than actual.  Even as we are pushing our biological/geological processes too hard, we as a species are becoming ever more "real" in our virtual interactions. 
Within a few years, perhaps inevitably, perhaps necessarily, Consciousness will no longer be equated with Life, or even the bridge between the forms of it, which we label Mind.  Consciousness will be the continued interaction between points of unique view, striving for utter empathy and mutually beneficial interactions within the silicon exoskeleton for our collective Mind, which we now label virtual.

It will happen because that follows the pattern that's been set up from the beginning.  It will happen because it is the most efficient way to unlock greater possibility within the patterns that initiated the set.  It will happen because that's how fractals work.
