What keeps you peaceful?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 09, 2008:
Each night I sit on my back porch, staring at clouds, rain, or stars, before I can sleep. It's my vacation. On a beautiful, cool night, I'm apt to bring a book. Along the cusp of spring or fall, I take out my cot and sleeping bag.
I also have a quick meditation routine of 20 breaths, the fundamental technique taught to Sufi initiates. Both practices became habitual peace-bringers while I was in Iraq; they're my daily vacation.

I love that, “my daily vacation”. That is how I feel about walking at sunrise. I seldom miss one. Iraq? I have some catching up to do…..
Lovely blog.
